27 Hole Golf Course

at Moor Allerton Golf Club

Over a period of 40 years Robert Trent Jones Sr. designed or modified more than 500 courses world-wide including Valderrama, Firestone, Spyglass Hill and Sotogrande. Moor Allerton Golf Club is the only course he designed in the UK. It is unique.

He laid out 27 holes on 220 acres of undulating Yorkshire countryside in three distinct loops of nine. It is different to its neighbours having large contoured greens, large teeing areas, boldly shaped bunkers and, of course, water hazards.

Peter Alliss, who was the Head Professional in the early 70’s, believes that ‘Moor Allerton is a golfing experience larger than life’.

Having 27 holes means that the Yorkshire Golf Academy can usually offer playing lesson experiences all year round, even at busy periods.
